TIN SOLDER WIRES

MBO offers a very wide range of solder wires, suitable for electronic and industrial soldering. MBO wires are available in lead-free alloys, in accordance with European directives. Wires can be either solid (alloy only) or fluxed (alloy + flux). Our range of wires is available in diameters from 0.2 mm to 6 mm.

General note : Following extensive in-house testing to validate the performance of resinous fluxes, MBO has decided to increase the shelf life for this family of solder wires from one year to two years. This increase is valid for flux grades starting with RO in the J-STD 004 standard.

APPLICATIONS

WIRE WITH RZ STRIPPER

RZ stripper has been developed for use in capacitors. This resin-based solder wire offers very good wetting performance on zinc. This wire is produced exclusively with lead-free alloys. It can also be used with all conventional soldering processes (irons, torches, induction, hot plates, hot air, etc.). Its ROL0 classification (halogen-free) and its No Clean nature also give it advantages, as its soldering performance is equivalent to INH1 = HC3 classifications (much more activated).

WIRE WITH RES0 STRIPPER

RES0 MBO wire with flux provides excellent wettability on copper, tinned copper and nickel-gold. MBO solder wire with incorporated RES0 flux can be used with many soldering methods such as : soldering iron, hot air, induction, hot plate, etc.

The recommended working temperature when using a soldering iron is between 360°C and 400°C for standard lead-free applications. Higher temperatures can be used, although this may result in a slight discolouration of the flux residue. Its ROL0 classification under J-STD 004 and its compatibility with the BONO test make this solder wire an obvious choice for demanding applications.

WIRE WITH ROB STRIPPER

ROB paint stripper has been developed for automatic applications (e.g. robots) and demanding applications in terms of temperature. The residues remain clear even at temperatures of around 400°C. Above 420°C, the residues become slightly coloured, but remain comparable to the flux residues of « classic » paint strippers, which offer the same type of colouring but at 360°C. On the other hand, activation is effective at temperatures above 360°C. This wire is only produced with lead-free alloys. It can also be used for manual soldering. Its ROL1 classification and No Clean nature also give it advantages, as its soldering performance is equivalent to ROM1 classifications (which are much more activated).
